Tudor, Your Excellency
We were asked to create a house portrait for the Metlar-Bodine House Museum as a silent auction item. The House Museum is a yellow Victorian with a stature to command its stately presence – it’s enormous, yet delicately displays its Queen Anne trim work. The winner of the auction won the original artwork [created by Monarch] of the House Museum AND won a complimentary made-to-order home portrait!
The winners, The Durkin’s, chose to have their home’s portrait commissioned, a beautiful historic Tudor Revival architecture with classic chimney pots, a patina slate roof, and ivy climbing up the wall. The home is lovely, and the tree in the front yard cascades over the porch, offering the perfect shade for a morning coffee in the hot summer months.
The Durkin’s loved their portrait so much, they decided this would be the perfect greeting card for the holiday season. The family wanted the greeting cards to be religion neutral and appropriate for the wintertime season. We brainstormed together and came up with a “Happy Holidays” greeting and aded a seasonal holly leaf branch to decorate the cover. On the inside of the card, we included the family’s favorite poem…
The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it.

McKenzie is an exquisite artist. Also, while working on our house portrait her patience, during the exchange of ideas, was extraordinary. Her expertise made the experience painless and the result is extraordinary. Her talent and expertise are immeasurable, and we highly recommend her.
