About the Artist
Hi, My name is McKenzie and I am the artist & owner of Monarch Creative Studio. I’ve always been an artist, even as a young child. Many projected that I’d study art, but actually, I viewed myself as an aspiring architect. An artist-architect, like Da Vinci or LeCorbusier…
That passion never went away, and well, I am an artist of architecture, and that’s a pretty cool thing.
I studied Interior Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I’ve worked alongside architects, builders, designers, and realtors. My favorite part is that I get to learn the story behind every home, of what makes every project unique. To whom makes this house, her home. At Monarch, we want to draw your home’s story.
About the Name
Every one has a sign from the universe. Some see specific numbers, like 11:11, or a cardinal appears whenever you think of your mom, or maybe you just get shivers up your spine.
The day I decided that it was time to start my own business, a swarm of Monarch butterflies flew right in front of me. It took my breath away. From that day forward, I saw (and still see) a Monarch every day. I like to think that someone was trying to get my attention. Reassurance that the universe has my back, and I am showing up for my life’s assignment.
In addition to my breathtaking Monarch moment, I do love the compound structure of this word. I love that Monarch is a combination of Mona [Lisa] and Arch [itecture], because that is what Monarch is, art and architecture.
